Widbrook Grange Wedding Photography - Abi and Charlie

If I was going to make a generalisation about the weddings in 2023 it would be that couples have been leaving it later to book than ever before.

Abi and Charlie booked me just 36 short days before their celebration. I have to say, I was so glad that I managed to find space for them in my diary because their celebration turned out to be a really special small, intimate celebration with just their closest friends and family.

Their wedding took place at Widbrook Grange, a new venue for me which is surprising seeing as I only live 8 miles away! I arrived more or less at the same time as Charlie so I was able to say a quick hello before grabbing some photos of the ceremony room and then heading over to take some photos of Abi’s final preparations with her sister on hand to help.

To say that the weather was changeable would be an understatement! It varied from bright sunshine one moment to blustery rain showers the next! Charlie was able to welcome to guests outside the Hotel in the bright sunshine but by the time it came for Abi to make her way across the courtyard, it had started to rain. Thankfully, after Abi and Charlie’s “first look” the rain had cleared up so that they could make their entrance for the ceremony together. It continued to stay dry for their outdoor drinks reception. We managed to fit in their formal group photos and it was only whilst we were attempting to take a final few photos during their couples shoot that the rain returned. Amazingly, they were due to head indoors for their food at that point anyway - it couldn’t have been more perfectly timed!

As it was such an intimate celebration, my final task of the day was to photograph them cutting the cake before they tucked into their tasty-looking buffet. It was at this point that I said my goodbyes and left them to their celebration.

Below you will find a small selection of my favourite photos from the day. To view the full gallery, please contact Abi or Charlie.
