Emily and Cole - An Intimate Wedding in Exeter

I honestly don’t really know where to start. Cole has been a good friend of mine for many years so when he told me he was getting married, I was overjoyed for him. Knowing Cole, I knew that it would be an intimate celebration so I honestly wasn’t even expecting to be invited, let alone for him and Emily to ask me to photograph the day for them!

By some miracle, I didn’t have any other weddings booked in and I was so excited when I realised that I actually had the whole weekend available! It meant that I could stay in Exeter for a couple of nights and properly celebrate with them.

As expected, the celebrations were indeed very intimate. The day started at Larkbeare House, the Registry Office in Exeter and continued on to The Turks Head for celebratory drinks and nibbles. In keeping with the relaxed nature of the day, Emily and Cole chose to walk from the ceremony to the reception and stop off for a coffee along the way! With most of the guests opting to go on ahead to the the reception, a small group of us made the most of the fine weather (I mean, the weather actually was just perfect bearing in mind that the days either side were pretty awful!) and joined them for a stroll along the Quay to Crankhouse Coffee.

When we finally got the the reception Emily and Cole were met by a round of applause and lots of cheering from their guests and the celebrations continued with Prosecco, pizza and ad-hoc speeches (including a fab Mr & Mrs-esque quiz about “Four Weddings and a Funeral”!)

It was the most relaxed, bizarre and yet utterly wonderful wedding that I have been involved with and I have spent most of my time editing the photos feeling completely overwhelmed with emotion knowing how perfect the day turned out for them both!

Below are just a small handful of my favourite photos from the day. If you would like to view the full gallery then please contact Emily or Cole.
