Malmesbury Wedding Photography - Megan and Daniel

Megan and Daniel got married during a beautiful, traditional church ceremony in September - a day which kept us guessing when it came to the weather! Their ceremony was followed by a relaxed home celebration which was so much fun to be a part of!

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves! I arrived to document Megan's preparations surrounded by all her bridesmaids. When I got there it was already a wonderful hive of activity with people dashing in and out, plus all the little ones coming and going!

With most of the day happening on the farm where they live, whilst I was documenting Megan’s prep, I had the luxury of time to nip out and capture details of the reception venue, grab a few shots of Daniel and photograph the impressive fleet of wedding transport (a fantastic collection of Land Rovers and classic cars that would be ferrying the entire wedding party the short distance to the church).

One of my favourite touches was Megan's choice of dried flowers for the bouquets and table decorations. Even more touching, she'd adorned her bouquet with a photo of loved ones who were no longer with them – such a beautiful way to include special people in their celebration.

The weather decided to keep us on our toes throughout the day. We arrived at the church in glorious sunshine, but while we were all inside for the ceremony, quite an epic shower rolled through. By the time we emerged, though, the sun was shining again! You've got to love unpredictable British weather.

After a few family photos outside the church, we all headed back to the reception where guests made the most of the open bar while I captured more group shots in front of those gorgeous cars and around the gardens. Between rain showers there was even a bouncy castle for the kids – always a winner!

Before the wedding breakfast (a delicious buffet of tasty sandwiches, nibbles, and cake), the speeches began. That's when the best man brought out a surprise - a giant inflatable cake! As it turned out, today wasn't just Megan and Daniel's wedding day, it was also Megan's birthday! What a way to celebrate both occasions!

Before too long the real cake was cut, and then the evening party kicked off in the most spectacular way - Megan and Daniel were played into the room by a saxophonist ahead of their first dance. It was such a brilliant entrance and really set the tone for the party ahead.

The evening continued with pizza (perfect late-night food!), cigars for the Groom and his ushers, a photo booth housed in a horse box (very on-brand for a farm wedding), and an absolutely packed dancefloor.

There's something really special about home weddings. The relaxed atmosphere, the personal touches everywhere you look, and the genuine feeling that everyone's just there to celebrate with people they love. Megan and Daniel's reception perfectly captured that beautiful balance between elegant celebration and comfortable, laid-back party.
