Pennard House Wedding Photography - Adella and Jamie

Adella and Jamie's wedding at Pennard House in Somerset was one of those celebrations that stays with you long after the sparklers have fizzled out - intimate, beautifully styled, and surrounded by people who genuinely love each other.

This was perhaps the wedding this year where I'd been most involved in the run-up to the big day. After meeting Adella and Jamie at a local wedding fair, we met for coffee to discuss their plans. I then felt incredibly privileged to be invited to their final planning meeting at Pennard House, where I met the brilliant wedding coordinator Charlie and their florist Jodie. Hearing about their vision in such depth was wonderful and really helped me understand what mattered most to them.

On the wedding day, I arrived to find Adella already well underway with hair and makeup, surrounded by her bridesmaids. I busied myself capturing all those important details - the flowers, the dresses (there were two!), and Adella's shoes. Yes, shoes plural! There were three pairs including a fabulous set of Jimmy Choos for the evening party!

With everything happening in the same location, I could dart back and forth between Adella's preparations, Jamie welcoming guests, the ceremony room and the Coach House where Jodie's team from Copper Green florists were creating absolute magic. More on that shortly!

The ceremony was beautifully intimate, beginning with the bridesmaids' arrival, followed by Adella who was walked down the aisle by her son, all accompanied by a string duo. Three specially chosen readings made everything feel incredibly personal and heartfelt.

Afterwards, we headed into Pennard's gorgeous gardens for the confetti throw. Guests enjoyed the sunshine and drinks in the beautiful surroundings, though a brief shower did send everyone diving into the newly built conservatory where miniature baskets of fish and chips were served as canapés! Very British and absolutely brilliant.

Thankfully the rain passed quickly, and while guests took their seats in the Coach House, I was able to spend some relaxed time with Adella and Jamie capturing some natural couples portraits.

Now, about that Coach House! Jodie and her Copper Green team had transformed the space into something absolutely breathtaking. A single long table seated all their guests, dressed with white flowers and lush green foliage running the entire length. White drapes and greenery cascaded from the ceiling beams, while tall tapered candles created the most romantic atmosphere. But it didn't stop there - flowers were everywhere! The ceremony room had been bursting with them, giant urns flanked the cake table, there was even a broken floral arch in the doorway. Apparently it was one of Pennard's biggest installations in recent memory, and I'll admit I got completely carried away photographing every angle!

After the food and the speeches, Adella and Jamie disappeared briefly before surprising their guests by reappearing in completely new outfits! The cake was cut, the first dance kicked off the party, and the band absolutely played up a storm.

After the band's first set, we gathered outside for the final big moment - sparklers! Watching all the guests waving their sparklers and cheering for Adella and Jamie was so much fun.

Before I knew it, my time with them was up. I stuck around just long enough to enjoy a tasty bubble waffle before saying my goodbyes.

I was actually rather sad the day was over. Adella and Jamie had thrown one incredible party and were an absolute joy to work with throughout the entire process. Their guests were all so lovely, and I was genuinely touched when their children made the effort to thank me before I left. The Pennard House staff were also amazing - so easy to work with and ensuring I was well fed and watered all day. That's not something I can say about every venue!

Pennard House really is a stunning Somerset wedding venue for couples who want intimacy with wow-factor styling, and Adella and Jamie's celebration perfectly showcased why this location works so beautifully for considered, thoughtful weddings.
