Limpley Stoke Wedding Photography - Sharon and Richard

Sharon and Richard's November wedding at Limpley Stoke Hotel near Bath was filled with family, emotion, and those beautiful moments that come when couples celebrate surrounded by the people they love most.

They'd been wonderfully organised, booking me back in February after seeing me at a local wedding fair. I'd been really looking forward to their day – as an older couple with adult children taking on pivotal roles, I knew it would be something special.

When I arrived, I immediately bumped into Richard chatting with the florist – my good friend Judy from Blooming Chic. Richard kindly gave me a quick tour of where everything would be taking place, then I accompanied Judy to deliver Sharon's bridal bouquet. She was getting ready at the very top of the hotel and didn't need "getting ready" photos, so I captured some lovely details of her bouquet and her beautiful Ghost dress before leaving her to her preparations.

I headed back down to the bar where guests were starting to gather, capturing some candid shots of Richard welcoming everyone and also of Judy fixing the various buttonholes (Richard’s and his Best Man’s contained a nod to his love of Golf!). When it was time for the ceremony, I photographed Sharon coming down the stairs to meet her dad before positioning myself at the front of the ceremony room.

Sharon was accompanied down the aisle by her dad for a beautiful, emotional ceremony that ended with a touching reading by two of their children.

We made our way back to the bar for drinks and canapés before assembling various groups for formal photos in the ceremony room (we chose not to head outside as the weather was being unpredictable with showers passing through all afternoon)! I'm pleased to say though that Sharon and Richard were happy to brave the elements to grab some photos outside under the gazebo and with their umbrella. I always love it when couples are willing to do this as it means we get some lovely unique shots.

We then squeezed in a few mock cake-cutting photos before braving the rain once again for the confetti throw. All of the guests took it in their stride and Sharon and Richards children did an amazing job at ushering everyone together for a group photo whilst I dashed back up to the bridal suite to take the photos from the balcony! The guests then took their seats for the speeches. The father of the bride, Richard, and the best man all delivered fabulous speeches. There were tears, there was laughter, and a wonderful atmosphere of joy and celebration.

Below you will find a small selection of my favourite photos from their day. To view the full gallery, please contact Sharon and Richard.
