Chippenham Wedding Photography - Liz and Peter
I don't always photograph big elaborate weddings. In fact, I tend to shoot family-oriented celebrations with up to 100 guests – and sometimes they're not even that big! Such was the case for Liz and Peter's celebration at Chippenham Register Office with just eight guests attending.
This was a relatively last-minute booking with Liz having found me on Google. Despite my office being literally around the corner from the Register Office, this was surprisingly my first visit there all year! Still, it felt wonderfully familiar stepping back in.
I arrived in time to capture Peter waiting in the ceremony room, looking dapper in his vivid pink tie and waistcoat while chatting with guests. Liz was accompanied down the aisle by her son, wearing a beautiful dress and matching headpiece.
The ceremony was short but emotional, with the couple reading their vows from individual scrolls. After signing the register and photographing them with their witnesses, the group was small enough to capture everyone together before we even left the ceremony room.
We headed downstairs where I corralled small groups outside into the courtyard for photos before everyone retreated back indoors to warm up! Why the wait? We were expecting a very special guest – the couple's beloved dog. Once he arrived, we set up a confetti throw (always a lot of fun!) before heading en masse to The Pewsham for their reception.
Drinks were served upon arrival, and I captured a few mock cake-cutting photos as well as Peter's impromptu speech before saying my goodbyes.
I do love an intimate wedding! There's something so special about these smaller celebrations where every single person matters deeply to the couple. The genuine emotion and closeness really shines through, and you can truly capture the connections between everyone present.
Liz and Peter's day perfectly showcased how you don't need hundreds of guests to have a beautiful, meaningful wedding celebration.
