Hillfields Farm Wedding Photography - Charlotte and Olivia
Charlotte and Olivia’s wedding at Hillfields Farm was certainly a day to remember.
This was my first time at Hillfields Farm, a beautiful venue tucked into the Berkshire countryside, and I wanted to make sure I had time to explore it properly. So, I made the decision to stay nearby the night before and I’m so glad I did.
Arriving early meant I was able to meet some of Charlotte and Olivia’s lovely family, who were already busy setting up for the day ahead. I also got to chat with the wedding co-ordinator who showed me around the grounds and gave me a sense of how the day would unfold.
After getting my bearings I started my coverage with Olivia’s morning preparations before heading back to the venue to photograph the guests arriving. That meant I was also on hand to witness Olivia and Charlotte greeting each other before the ceremony - one of many emotional moments to happen during the day!
But of all the details that made this day so memorable, one surprise guest may have stolen the show…
Meet Mrs Durrell 🫏
As a part of the evening celebrations guests were greeted by Mrs Durrell the donkey and let’s just say she was a big hit! There’s something so joyful about a couple bringing a bit of unexpected fun to their day, and Mrs Durrell delivered just that - the perfect segue into the evening festivities!
So what else made Charlotte and Olivia’s day unique - apart from the horse-box bar and the crisp station?! I loved how they had taken the time to provide personalised sunglasses detailed with their wedding date. In a fun twist, every single guest was asked to wear them for the group photo and the result is a great shot that captures the relaxed and fun atmosphere of their celebration (also: who doesn’t love an accessory that doubles as both a photo prop and a party favour?)
It was such a fun day from start to finish and I was absolutely delighted to receive this message after I’d sent their sneak peeks:
“Thank you so much for everything yesterday – as two people who hate having their photo taken, you made us feel so at ease! These photos are incredible, thank you again!”
