Methuen Arms Vow Renewal Photography - Suzanne and Michael
Michael and Suzanne's vow renewal celebration at the Methuen Arms in Corsham was pure joy from start to finish - and proof that second time around can be even more magical than the first!
Their original wedding had been very small and intimate, so this celebration gave them the perfect opportunity to go all out with their friends and close family. Beautiful flowers filled every corner, incredible food was planned, and for Suzanne, this was finally her chance to wear that white wedding dress she'd always dreamed of!
The celebrant-led ceremony was planned for the beautiful walled garden at the Methuen Arms, but for a while the Wiltshire weather had other ideas. Guests were diving under cover every few minutes to avoid the passing showers, and I'll admit I was getting a little nervous about the timing! But as soon as the ceremony began, we were blessed with bright sunshine that stayed with us for the rest of the day.
In a special touch, their daughter walked Suzanne down the aisle. The ceremony included a couple of incredibly emotional readings that had everyone reaching for tissues - one delivered by their daughter, and another by Michael's sister. These personal touches are exactly what I love about vow renewals; couples have the freedom to include exactly what matters most to them without worrying about traditional expectations.
After exchanging their vows again, Michael and Suzanne made their exit through a joyful confetti throw from their delighted guests - always one of my favourite moments to capture during any Corsham wedding photography.
We moved almost straight into the sit-down meal and the attention to detail was incredible. The room was decorated with those gorgeous flowers, and each place setting featured a colourful ribbon tied around the wine glasses to show guests where to sit. Little did we know these ribbons would provide entertainment later when the children discovered them and spent ages tying them around their arms, legs, and heads! Sometimes the best moments are completely unplanned.
The speeches that followed the meal were beautifully emotional. Michael spoke from the heart, followed by their daughter, and finally their best man, who happened to be Suzanne's son. Having family take on these special roles made everything feel so much more personal and meaningful.
After the meal, everyone headed outdoors to enjoy the sunshine and the various entertainment. There was a live illustrator capturing moments throughout the day, and later the fantastic Pinky and the Slapcats provided live music that had everyone dancing and singing along.
The cake cutting was followed by a delicious BBQ, and that's when I left Michael and Suzanne to continue their joyous celebration with their loved ones.
The Methuen Arms in Corsham really is a beautiful venue for couples who want something intimate yet special, and Michael and Suzanne's vow renewal perfectly showcased why this location works so well for celebrations that are all about genuine love and family connections.
