Syrencot Wedding Photography - Poppy and Edward
Poppy and Ed’s wedding took place at the beautiful Syrencot near Salisbury and just so happened to be my first wedding of the year.
I should say that I’ve known Poppy for a few years now as her younger sister was in the same school class as my nieces, but I still felt hugely privileged to be asked to document her special day!
I arrived to document the bridal preparations. As I was a little early, I decided to take a wander and grab some photos of the venue ahead of the guests arriving. To my surprise I stumbled across Ed and his groomsmen in the walled garden playing on the Coconut Shy! It was a great, relaxed way to ease myself into the first wedding of the year and it set the tone for the day ahead - on the whole a very laid back, fun-filled day.
Before we knew it, Bridal prep time was over and we found ourselves heading over to the Glasshouse for the ceremony. It was an emotional one - Poppy was accompanied down the aisle by her Mum, there was not one but two moving readings and the ceremony featured a very cute, dinky ringbearer!
Once Poppy and Ed had said “I do” and exchanged their first kiss it was time for confetti, drinks and formal photographs before I snuck them away for their couples portraits. I have to say, we were pretty lucky with the weather - it remained dry all day which meant we were able to utilise the grounds to their full potential.
In the evening Poppy and Ed cut their cake and then played a rather humorous game of “Mr and Mrs” before taking to the floor for their first dance. And that’s when the party started. It certainly was an energetic dance floor - I don’t think I saw it empty once!
All in all, an amazing day to kick off my 2025 wedding season!
