Bowood Hotel Wedding Photography - Jodie and Dan
Jodie and Dan’s wedding celebration was to take place at Bowood Hotel and Spa and they had booked me to cover the entire day. I also noticed that they had booked a Content Creator to document the majority of the day. This was the first time that I had worked alongside a Content Creator and I have to say, it was a lot of fun! I think Claudia and I made a good team even if I do say so myself!
I arrived to find the ceremony room set up and, after snapping a few details, I headed over to the hotel to capture Jodie’s preparations alongside her Bridesmaids and Bridesman. The morning whizzed past in a buoyant flurry of prosecco, hairspary, flowers and Tequila Rose! Once Jodie had stepped into her amazing gown, I scooted over to the Kerry Suite to document Dan and his Groomsmen attempting to attach their buttonholes (always an amusing few moments!). By this point, their guests had started to arrive and were taking their seats.
The ceremony was short and emotional with Jodie accompanied down the aisle by both her Mum and her Brother. A moment of hilarity soon ensued when Dan mixed up Jodie’s first and middle names during the vows. Moments like that always help to break the tension and the room was full of laughter while Jodie and Dan recomposed themselves!
Rings exchanged and first kiss shared, it was time to exit the ceremony into their drinks reception. The original plan had been to head straight outside for confetti and group photos but Mother Nature decided to throw a number of rain showers our way. Thankfully we were able to readjust the location of the group shots so that the guests remained undercover (with myself and Claudia juggling an umbrella!) and the confetti was simply shifted until after the meal once the rain showers had cleared.
Amazingly, the weather behaved itself just long enough for Jodie and Dan to make a dash up to the Golden Gates for some couples photos. I’ll be forever grateful to Claudia for helping me organise a “flying veil” photo - the wind was definitely working against us!
The wedding breakfast soon followed. With dinner service complete we were treated to a number of humorous speeches before the Kerry Suite was transformed for their evening party. Cake cut and first dance complete, the party kicked of in earnest and included a Photo Booth which included masks of the couples cats to ensure that they were included in the day!
Below you will find a small selection of my favourite photos from the day. To view the full gallery, please contact Jodie and Dan.
