Cripps Barn Wedding Photography
Are you planning on getting married at Cripps Barn in the Cotswolds? It is such a lovely venue and, I have to admit, I have always had a soft spot for Cripps Barn ever since my sister got married here in 2008! As such, I always get excited when I am asked to return to photograph weddings there and I love to see how the venue has evolved and changed over the years.
Overview
Cripps Barn is an 18th century stone barn overlooking a manicured lawn and fields beyond. It is located just over 5 miles from the market town of Cirencester in the Cotswolds and can easily be reached from Gloucester, Swindon and London. In recent years the barn has added a woodland glade where outdoor ceremonies can take place. Although accommodation isn’t available onsite, they do offer the option of camping - a fun option if your guests are up for it!
Your Celebration
Cripps Barn offers two options for your ceremony - inside the cosy stone barn or outside in the woodland glade. Both options are very picturesque and it is definitely a positive to have an indoor backup just in case the British weather does what the British weather does best! The lawn offers a fab space for games and fire-pits are plentiful which definitely add to the atmosphere when the sun starts to set. The wedding breakfast is normally served within the barn, in the newer extension (which is normally off limits until your guests are asked to be seated).
From a Photographers Point of View
Cripps Barn offers a beautiful backdrop for photos and I love what they have created with the woodland glade. Stone walls and wonderful trees are everywhere you look and provide multiple options for photos. But perhaps the best thing to do is actually to take a walk and explore the driveway and the surrounding fields - they can provide a beautiful backdrop depending on the season and what is currently growing!
Additional information
One of the biggest benefits of Cripps Barn is that, once booked, it is completely yours for the day. It is an exclusive wedding venue which means that you get the entire venue to yourself.

Boy have I been on a rollercoaster of a ride with Megan and Liam!
Their original wedding was due to take place in March 2020 which means that they were one of the first unlucky couples who had to scramble to change their plans as soon as the first lockdown was announced!
