Suzanne, Ade and their Secret Trowbridge Wedding

Being involved in couples celebrations for one of the biggest moments of their lives is a huge privilege that I will never take for granted.

Nothing reinforces this more than being asked to photograph an intimate wedding and also being trusted to keep it a complete secret!

This was exactly what happened with Suzanne and Ade’s celebration. They told me that there would only be a handful of guests at their ceremony at Trowbridge County Hall and that the only people who knew it was happening were the guests that had been invited. As such, Suzanne asked whether there was any chance that I could send them a couple of photos the same day so they could make an official announcement! Well, one of my aims after every wedding is to provide a small selection of images as a sneak preview so I was more than happy to tell her “absolutely I can do that”!

The day arrived, hot and sunny (like the majority of wedding days this summer!) and I made my way to County Hall ensuring I was there in plenty of time to have a chat with the Registrar before Suzanne, Ade and their guests arrived.

It was a short ceremony but no less emotional for it. Surrounded by just their closest family Suzanne and Ade said their vows with their son acting as ring bearer and their daughter as Bridesmaid.

With the schedule signed, we headed to the stairs for a quick handful of photos before emerging into the blazing sunshine for confetti.

One thing I love about County Hall is that there is a sheltered doorway where photos can be taken in the event of rain or, in this case, blazing hot sun! Utilising the pretty doorway we were able to capture a variety of group photos before I persuaded Suzanne and Ade to have just a handful of couples portraits (keeping it natural and relaxed as always).

Photos complete, they headed off to Lacock for a few drinks and I was flattered to be asked to join them as I was now “part of the family”! I would have loved to have joined them but instead I raced back to the office to download their images, edit a couple of photos as promised and deliver them while they were busy celebrating. It’s all in a days work!

Below you will find a small selection of photos to give you a taster of the day. To view the full gallery, please contact Suzanne and Ade.
