Everything you need to know about your Wedding Photography Timeline
Planning a wedding can be a daunting and often confusing process. What with having to juggle enquiries and responses, meetings with your venue and suppliers, organising paying booking fees, making a notes of final payment dates as well as finding time for menu tasting, dress or suit shopping, finalising table plans… the list goes on!
When it comes to photography, I endeavour to make the process as simple as possible, keeping you updated along the way and always being on hand to answer any queries. With that in mind, I wanted to provide a bit of guidance as to what you should expect during your wedding photography journey.
Enquiry received
Upon getting in touch, I will check my availability and get back to you to arrange a no-obligation meeting (either virtually or in person) to discuss your photographic requirements. I will provide you with a quote and you will automatically be given first refusal on your chosen date (you can therefore relax in the knowledge that your date won’t get swiped while you are assessing your options).
Booking Complete!
If you choose to book then I will request a booking fee amounting to 20% of the package cost. Once you have paid your booking fee and returned your booking form - hurrah! - your booking is confirmed and you can get on with planning all of the other elements for your special day.
Six Months to go
If your package includes a pre-wedding shoot then I will get in touch to arrange a convenient time for us to do this. You are, of course, welcome to arrange the shoot sooner if you would like to do so.
Six Weeks to go
I will be in touch with your final invoice. I will also send you a final details form where you can tell me all about your final timings and list the formal photos that you will require.
Four weeks to go
The final balance is due. I will keep an eye out for the payment and send you a gentle reminder if required.
Two weeks to go
Please ensure that your final details form is returned to me no later than two weeks before the wedding. I need time to check over the logistics and get back to you with any questions and I really don’t want to be bothering you any closer to the wedding!
Time to say “I do”!
The big day is here and you don’t have to worry about a thing. I have the schedule for the day and your list of photographs so you can get on with the important business of celebrating while I capture those all important memories for you.
24-48 hours after
You will receive a handful of images via email as a tiny sneak peek! These images are just a little taster of the day to help keep the excitement going for a little bit longer!
Six weeks after
The editing process can take time but I aim to have your images finalised and perfected around 4-6 weeks following the wedding. The images are uploaded to your online gallery and I will email you with the access details. Your USB and prints (if included in your package) will follow a few days later.
If you have a photobook or album included in your package then you can start making your choices on which photos you would like to include.
