I was immediately excited about Hayley and David's wedding from the moment they first came in to see me. With their plans including a wander through the cobbled streets of Bristol, a boat trip and a relaxed celebration at the historic Pump House, it sounded like a lot of fun.
I joined Hayley to document some of her preparations and even had time to pop over to see a nervous David having a swift drink with his family before the ceremony. I then returned to join Hayley on her walk over to the Registry Office. I love documenting candid moments such as this - it's always lovely to see the reactions on the faces of complete strangers. We even bumped into a hen party which was a lovely unplanned moment.
After their beautiful ceremony in the Grand Council Chamber we wandered back through the cobbled streets behind St Nichols Market towards Welsh Back to board the boats and I don't think it was just the kids who enjoyed the trip - there was lots of waving and cajoling between the two boats, especially when they overtook each other! We were treated to a whistle-stop tour of the harbour, passing under Pero's Bridge and then heading on past the S.S. Great Britain. Later in the day we were even visited by the Matthew and also a number of hot air balloons - it couldn't have worked out better had it been planned! The whole day was a fun, family-filled event with lots of David's family having travelled across from Ireland to celebrate.
Below are a few of my favourite photos from the day. The full set of images can be found here (the password can be obtained from Hayley or David).
