2017 yet again turned into a rather amazing year on the wedding front. With weddings in Wiltshire, Devon, Gloucestershire, Somerset and even a couple in central London, it has been amazing to travel all over capturing magical memories for brides and grooms and their friends and families. I love visiting new venues and working with new suppliers and this year I have been completely spoilt! It was particularly lovely to work alongside Caroline (from Foxybuds) and Kirsten (the Little Wedding Helper) at the start of the year and, as ever, Mark has been a brilliant assistant. I also fell in love with Rockbeare Manor, the Trafalgar Tavern and Lancing College as well as countless other venues. From piers to marquees, huge wedding parties to intimate blessings I have felt privileged to be a part of every single one of them.
As ever, when I come to choose my favourite photos from the past year I always end up with far too many favourite images. Often this is because of the moment they capture - the feelings and emotions that are evoked when I look back at them. It's a funny thing. Editing wedding photos can be rather emotional for me. On the day itself I am far too focussed on getting the shots, ensuring that I capture the memories for my clients. But once I get back to my desk and sit down to edit the photos, I often get caught up in the emotion of it and I have even been known to shed a little tear or two when I find an image of the groom all emotional waiting at the front of the aisle or realise I did manage to capture the mother-of-the-bride wiping away a tear as she watched her daughter say her vows.
So here are a few of my favourite photos and moments from my weddings in 2017. It's a real mixture and I can't really justify why I chose these photos over others. Some of these images I am really proud of. Some of them represent my favourite moments even if they aren't technically perfect. And some of them are there because I just want them to be!
Thank you 2017 - you were great! I can't wait to throw myself into 2018...
